Monument (2018)

Gom Jabbar // Sydney Fringe Festival, 2018

“I wonder if it will be like that. Just normal again. After.”

Monument is an arresting psychological thriller documenting the fall out of a tragic museum massacre. The story follows three survivors trying to rebuild their lives, the young men responsible, and an aspiring journalist searching for any explanation.

The debut work from theatre collective Gom Jabbar, Monument is a gripping insight into how we remember, re-enact and glamourise trauma, and how we endlessly mythologise the monstrous.
